Tourism and country sightseeing contain in themselves considerable possibilities of educatonally genune and real influence on adolescents. They play an essential role in the development of appropriate personalities in young people, in the formation of their attitudes in meeting their needs and in preparing the young generation to fullfil ist socially important roles as well as to perform ist various life tasks. ; Both forms of the activity contribute to the integration of the contents of various school subjects. Especially, this is the case with excursions which conand pedagogical work. For example, young people's visits to literary museums creaand pedagogical work. For example, young people s vsits to literary museums create an excellent opportunity to show them the biographies of varios writers, their cultural background, their works and their links with the region. ; When writers and novelists are seen through their remnants, personal letters, addresses, documents, pictures and books gathered together in the museum, they introduce themselves to the youth and prosent themselves as creative persons, thinkers, authorities and models of a personality to be followed. Such occasions serve to intensify the effectiveness of the teaching of literature and correlate it with other school subjects, specially such as geography, history, social and natural environment, physical training and millitary education. ; In the paper - on the basis of amulti-subject excursion to the Swiętokrzyskie Mountains - are shown the real possibilities of tourism and country sightseeing in the integration of literary knowledge (including the works of S. Zeromski and H. Sienkiewicz) with other various subjects taught at school. Exploitation of these chances is a matter of teachers' practical activities.
