In the article the opinions of participants of the conference devoted to the didactics of literature published in the work: Literaturunterricht heute - warurn und wie? (Verlag Freiburg im Breisgau 1978) are presented. ; Conversations, which were made by the author of article with members of didactics department at the University of Justus Liebig in Giessen in 1981 have confirmed the novelty of presented statements. ; Discussion on the connection among directional subjects (study about 1iterature, linguistics), general didactics and detail didactics has been carried on in West Germany for nearly 10 years. The attention is paid to fact that new trends in literature teaching have not led yet to theestablishment of firm theoretical basis in the didactics of literature. ; Controversial views on the purpose of literature teaching cause that in practice too little time is devoted to free pupils' reading, the personification of the text by the pupil. At school interpretative stereotypes still continue to function. ; Discussion about the functioning in school practice three main key-ideas: teaching, communicating and understanding is particulary interesting. The frame plan of school reception of text is being also proposed.
